If you already have an application open for this cycle, please click \u201cLog in\u201d. Be sure to click on this link each time you return to your application and log in with the same email address. Please note that this year\u2019s application is independent from any previous years\u2019 applications; if you applied last year you will need to create a new application by clicking \u201cCreate an Account\u201d.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Make sure that the email address you provide is one that you use every day. Review the <a href=\"https:\/\/devwp.cal.org\/rem\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/EHLS-Program-Essay-Guidance-2026-2027.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">essay guidance<\/a> document for more information on each essay.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Please make sure your responses are succinct and effectively address the prompts. Note that there is a 500-word limit. We strongly recommend that you write your essays in a Word document and copy them over to the application. This allows you to use spellcheck. When you hit \u201csend,\u201d the application system will email each reference a reference form. Your references will be asked to complete the form, write a letter of reference, and send the material directly back to the system (not to you). Follow up with your references to make sure that they respond by the application deadline.<\/li><br>\n<\/ul>\n<\/span>\n<ul>\n \t<span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><li>Upload your <span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>transcript<\/strong><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>r\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/strong><\/span>. If you do not have PDF versions of these documents, you should have them scanned so that you can upload them.<\/li><br>\n<\/ul>\n<\/span>\n<ul>\n \t<span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><li>Federal government employees or active-duty military must provide <span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>proof of separation<\/strong><\/span> no later than two weeks before the EHLS program start date. Active-duty reservists must provide a letter from their commanding officer that they are exempt from drills and activation through the intensive portion of the EHLS Program. Inactive reservists are eligible to participate without documentation.<\/li><br><\/span>\n<\/ul>\n<span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Please do not send any application documents to Georgetown University. The results of your performance on the skills testing will be combined with selection rankings to determine whether you are offered a scholarship.
